My project is a card that features the Art Philosophy font.  I was inspired by a graduation card I made a few months back.

Color My Heart: Dare #10

This week's dare at Color My Heart is to use Ruby, Goldrush, Sweet Leaf, Indian Corn Blue with Cocoa.  I love the color Sweet Leaf but went a bit of a different direction with my neutral color.  When looking through my pinterest boards, I found this card, and quite honestly, why mess with perfection?  I CASE'd it big time :)

Here are my results:

The cuts were made with the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  The polka dot stamp comes from the new "It's Your Day" Double Stamp promotion that starts on August 15th.  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set: C1299 Butterfly Kiss

Saturday Card Sketch Challenge (8.4.12)

After years away from 2peas.com, I found my way back and am hoping to be more active on that site.  So I am going to jump in with 2 feet and join the Saturday Card Sketch Challenge 8.4.12

I used CTMH's Flirty Paper pack to create this card.  The card is embellished with baker's twine, leaves from the Floret Paper Flowers pack and a flower from the Autumn Lane Assortment.

Top 10 Layout #5

This is one of my favorite layout ever... EVER!!!

This layout showcases the first pictures of me and my children with my dad and sadly, the last pictures we took with him before he died of Alzheimer's.

It is hard to see unless you look at the close up, but I used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut the star background.  100 stars cut at 1 inch each... fill the page.

July Art Philosophy Blog Hop

Top 10 Layout # 4

Here is layout number four of five submitted to the Close To My Heart Album Contest at convention.  I was pleased as punch to find out I had made the top 10!  Memories are stars that Brighten Our Dreams.  For this layout I used 2 of my ALL time favorite pictures of my children.  The journalling explains more.

To create the star burst background I created a mask and sprayed Honey and Hollyhock re-inkers mixed at a 1part re-inker to 1 part rubbing alcohol.

The title was cut using the font found Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.

 Here are some close ups of the detail  The other pattern papers were either stamped in Hollyhock or cut from Decor Journaling  Spots.

 I used the uppercase letters from the Classmates set to create the "brighten" Banner...

Color My Hear: Dare# 5 I'm So PROUD of you!

As you know, I have been crushing on artwork with RAINBOW color schemes.So you know I was SUPER happy when I saw this weeks Color Dare:  Create Your Own Rainbow!

For my card, I used Barn Red, Autumn Terracotta, Sunflower, New England Ivy, Indian Corn Blue and Smokey plum.

I cut circles out of each of the colors and used like ink colors with the text stamp from D1412 Noted Backgrounds.  I arranged the circles in ROYGBP order to create the dot background mounted on White Daisy Cardstock with a layer of Barn Red and Sunflower.  The leaves are Cricut AP cuts as is the Flower.  I ran the leaves through a crimp tool. The flower is also stamped with the text stamp.  The sentiment is from C1464 Blue Ribbon and stamped in Barn Red on White Daisy Card stock.

Color My Heart: Dare #4

This is a first for me.  I have been asked to be a guest designer.  How cool is that?  Thank you Sara Stone and Color My Heart for the opportunity.

Color My Heart dare #4 is to use Cranberry, Sky and Sunkiss Yellow.  We also had the option of adding Moonstruck.  My card is CASED from a card created by Ros Davidson.

The candles on this card are stamped with D1280 Spot On Background.  I used Moonstruck ink on the Sky and Moonstuck candles and Cranberry on the Cranberry candle.

The sentiment is stamped in Moonstruck on Sky cardstock with a sentiment for the Art Philosophy collection.

Look... I even busted out some eyelet! 'Cause old school is so cool :)

Color My Heart: Dare #3

Dare #3 is up at Color My Heart.  This weeks colors are Sorbet and Dutch Blue.  I added a bit of Lilac Mist to the mix and came up with this card.

The branches and flowers are all cut with the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

I used this month's Stamp Of The  Month: Life is Sweet for the bird cut from Dutch Blue card stock.  I used a stamp set called Classmate Alphabet for the "follow your heart" border stamped in Lilac Mist.  I tied off the whole card with a bit of Sorbet ribbon.

Color My Heart : Dare #2

Color My Heart  Dare #2 up.  We were asked to use Topiary, Pear, Lagoon and/or Moonstruck. At first I was going to chicken out and use 2 out of the 4, but then I decided to push myself and use ALL 4 colors.  So glad I did! 

This LO is based on a design found in the Magic idea book called Backstage.  Because I wanted a more masculine LO, I used stars as an element.  I used strips of card stock to create the stripped paper.  That is my favorite part of this Layout.  The stars and the letters were all cut out using CTMH's Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  I did not want the strips to be the only pattern on the LO, so I used the polka dot stamp from D1325 Argyle Backgrounds on the stars and the letters (Pear paper with Topiary ink)

Life Is Tweet: June SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome to the June Stamp Of The Month Blog Hop.  If you are joining me from {Karen Fullam's blog, Enriching Memories}  , you are on the right path.

This is a CUTE stamp set and I could not wait to get to play with it!

I have long admired artwork that uses rainbow color schemes.  I created a few variations on that theme with this months Stamp Of The Month. I used the eyelet border stamp on all three creations.  For this first card I stamped mirror images of the border in a progession of rainbow colors onto White Daisy card stock.

The embellishments I added are from my stash, some are CTMH some not.  I am pleased with the way this card came out.

For my second creation I used a masking technique.  I cut Flower 5 at 2.25 inches with my Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  I secured the flower to White Daisy Card stock and stamped in ROYGBP pattern.  When finished, I removed the flower cut and stamped the Life is Tweet sentiment in the negative space.  I added a bit of Tulip card stock and layered it all on a treat bag cut from Art Philosophy.

Last but not least, I could not NOT use the stamped flower that I had removed from the project above. I HAD to use it.  So, I made a simple 3x3 card.  I cut the center circle from the "Life is Tweet" sentiment stamped in tulip on White Daisy and layered it on to my stamped flower. The stamped flower is mounted on a 2.25 x 2.75 Indian Corn Blue Card stock and then on to the 3x3 white daisy card.

Life Is Tweet: Paper Piece

So, this is a bit of a sneak peek of the June Stamp of the Month.  When I first saw this stamp set I thought the sentiment looked like a sun.  That is where this card began.

I used scrap paper from several retired CTMH kits to paper piece this scene together.   The pink birdie is from the current Lucy Paper Kit.  A quick run in the sewing machine and I was a happy camper :)

So Blessed Banner

Remember my Fall / Ho Ho Ho banner?

I was sad to put it away at the end of the season and wanted to replace it with a Spring-y banner.  This is what I made:

I used CTMH's Lucy paper pack and the My Creations Mini Banner.  So easy to decorate this banner using the Art Philosophy cartridge!  Here is a close up of the capital "S".

Thank You giftie

Since I am a  crafter I would LOVE getting a little giftie like this.  Not much really, only an 8x8 piece of paper folded but it is so cute!

I used paper from the Dotty For You collection.  To demonstrate the fold, I used plain photo copy paper...

1)Fold your 8x8 paper top to bottom and side to side so that you have 4 smaller squares:

 2)  Fold the lower right corner in toward the center.

 3) Fold lower left corner in toward the center.

 4) Using your horizontal fold, fold the large triangle to the top of your card.

5) Fold the tip of your triangle down so that it sets at the "bottom" of your card. This tip of the triangle can be folded into the pocket as well.  Secure this fold with adhesive.  Do not apply adhesive to the pocket BEHIND, as this is where you can place your tags :)

 6)  Now you have the bones of your card.  Embellish as desired.  I cut flowers with the AP cartridge and embellished a tag as wells the cover.

Merry Christmas

Today's card was based on one found here.

It is a 4x4 card cut out of Holiday Red Cardstock.  The green paper is from the Believe paper kit.  I cut the ornament and overlay using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  The sentiment is from A1115 A Holiday and is stamped in Cranberry ink .


The buttons were from my stash, and I do not know the manufacturer(s).

I have been wanting a hutch on the entry wall of my house for the LONGEST time.  My Mother In Law (who is AWESOME)  found one for me a great price and it came to live with us this week.  I have been fussing with it and decorating it and decided I wanted to add a banner to it .  This is what I came up with!

This banner is made with the Dreamin' paper pack and the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.  I cut each banner at 7 inches...

I really LOVE the way it looks.  AND... I put CTMH 's Believe paper on the back for Christmas.  I will share that side with you soon...

Double Hearts

Here is another card I created for the Troop 202 Auction.  I love the Black/Colonial White/ Hollyhock paper combination.  I have tried to make blank cards with out sentiments so that they are versatile.
