This is one of my favorite layout ever... EVER!!!
This layout showcases the first pictures of me and my children with my dad and sadly, the last pictures we took with him before he died of Alzheimer's.

It is hard to see unless you look at the close up, but I used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut the star background. 100 stars cut at 1 inch each... fill the page.
This detail shot shows the ribbon and chipboard embellishment on the left page.
I miss my dad every day.

This is a beautiful layout Julia! You did a wonderful job on it! I can see why it is one of your favorites! {{Hugs}} to you! I can't do this type of layout yet. I just lost my dad June 14th and his birthday would've been July 12th, our first day at Convention. I miss him and think of him everyday, so I just had to comment on yours with your last sentence!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that Pam... It was a year before I could scrap anything related to dad and/or his passing. The feeling dont go away, I just got better at dealing with them.
DeleteJulia, this is stunning in appearance and in spirit. It actually even made me cry. What a wonderful tribute and layout in honor of your father.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful ... You've done an amazing job of capturing the spirit of scrapbooking. We can all get excited about new products and cool techniques, but our memories are really the top priority every single time. Thank you for sharing such an intimate relationship and set of emotions. This is truly precious.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful layout! Touches my heart, I too just lost my dad in May of this year. I did a Studio J layout in his memory, but am inspired to do another one similar to this, if you don't mind. Thank you for sharing, and for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful layout and it brought tears to my eyes. My grandmother passed from Alzheimer's just a short while ago. It is wonderful that you bring us back to the heart of memory keeping, for future generations to enjoy. Thank you for sharing your beautiful artwork and story.
ReplyDeletebeautiful saying and perfect layout.
