August Stamp Of The Month: Baroque Borders
Welcome to the August Stamp Of The Month Blog Hop.
You should be joining me from Michelle Jones' Blog: Scrappy Hour
This months stamp set is called Baroque Borders.
You have 2 ways to get a hold of it.
(1)You can buy it at full retail cost of $17.95.
(2) Spend $50 on CTMH products, and you can get it for only $5.00
Here is what I created:
This card was created with our NEW pigment inks.
* I inked the border stamp with Slate Pigment Ink and stamped it onto Colonial White card stock cut at 4.25inches <square 1> found on page 23 of the Art Philosophy Handbook.
*After applying clear embossing powder, I used my heat gun to set the embossing powder. With a sponge, I ink inked the entire square with Twilight ink.
*My card base is cut from Slate card stock with the Card Feature ( no shift) also on page 23.
* The ribbon is also new this catalog: Slate Satin Polka Dot Ribbon ... just BEAUTIFUL!
* The sentiment is from a CTMH EXCLUSIVE convention gift.
Thank you for stopping by, off to the next hop spot: Laurie Newton, Scraps From The Beach

Album Contest Recap
I can not explain the emotions I felt as I stood back, watched and listened to 1200 fellow consultants react to my artwork. Seeing people take pictures, hearing them comment was a rush. Honestly, I cried, I giggled I stood in awe. What an awesome experience!
My goal this year was to make the top 10... of course NEXT year I want to win :)
Here is a recap of my 5 Layouts:
More Detailed pictures of "Why I Scrap"
More detailed pictures of "Memories"
More detailed pictures "His Light Shines"
More Detailed Photos of "All You"

Top 10 Layout #5
This is one of my favorite layout ever... EVER!!!
This layout showcases the first pictures of me and my children with my dad and sadly, the last pictures we took with him before he died of Alzheimer's.
Close up of left page:
Close up of right page:
It is hard to see unless you look at the close up, but I used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut the star background. 100 stars cut at 1 inch each... fill the page.
This detail shot shows the ribbon and chipboard embellishment on the left page.
I miss my dad every day.

Top 10 Layout # 4
Here is layout number four of five submitted to the Close To My Heart Album Contest at convention. I was pleased as punch to find out I had made the top 10! Memories are stars that Brighten Our Dreams. For this layout I used 2 of my ALL time favorite pictures of my children. The journalling explains more.
The title was cut using the font found Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.
I used the uppercase letters from the Classmates set to create the "brighten" Banner...

Top 10 at convention. Layout 2
This is one of my up cycled LO. When I first shared it with you, it was for a Color My Heart Dare and it looked like this:
I kept the basic structure but fancied it up a bit. For the convention LO, it looked like this:
As you can see, I changed the shape of my stars, and added some Dotty For You Paper. The stars were then strung the stars on hemp for the border detail. Here is a close up of that detail:
I also change the title just a bit and added the stamped star border on the edge of my Topiary Paper.
More art to come...

Top Ten at Convention!
I am so excited to share with you my art that I created for the Album Contest at Convention. This years convention theme was "Stars Shine Bright" and we were asked to create art inspired by stars.
I was jumping up and down like a kid at Christmas when I found out my album made top 10! Words can not explain how happy I was! Some of the LO will look familiar to you as I "up-cycled" some previous artwork for this contest. The first LO I want to share with you is a Studio J Layout. We were not required to include a Studio J LO for this contest, but I knew I could do EXACTLY what I wanted best if I Studio J.
Over the next few days I will share the other 4 layouts with you!
